Implied probability
52.38%

Implied probability is the break-even win rate for this price. It still includes the book’s margin.

American
-110
Decimal
1.91
Fractional
10/11

How it works

Every format describes the same thing: how much you get back for what you risk. Decimal odds are the total return per $1 staked. American odds show the profit on $100 for a plus price, or the stake needed to win $100 for a minus price. Fractional odds show profit over stake. Implied probability is 1 divided by the decimal price: the win rate you would need just to break even.

Worked example

−110 means risk $110 to win $100. That is 1.91 in decimal, 10/11 in fractional, and 52.38% implied.

When to use it

A check reads the price from your slip in whatever format the book used. Convert when a book, a friend or a model quotes a price in a different format and you want to compare like with like before you place the bet.

Questions

Why do the implied probabilities across a market add to more than 100%?

Because the book builds its fee into both sides. −110 on each side of a spread implies 52.38% twice, or 104.76% in total. The extra is the vig. The No-Vig and Vig tools remove it.

Does +100 equal −100?

Yes. Both are even money: decimal 2.00, fractional 1/1, 50% implied. Books quote it either way. This tool shows the plus form.

Why does a fractional price look unusual?

The tool shows the simplest fraction with a small denominator that matches the price. 1.91 becomes 10/11. An odd decimal such as 2.37 becomes a close fraction like 37/27.

Can I type a price with a comma or a dollar sign?

Type plain numbers: −110, 1.91 or 10/11. Spaces are ignored. For a probability, type the percentage, like 52.4.
